I’m Ms. Vania, but feel free to call me Nia Ssaem.
Teaching Korean has been one of the most rewarding journeys in my life. Since I first started teaching Korean in December 2018, I’ve accumulated over six years of experience, sharing the beauty of the Korean language and culture with students from diverse backgrounds.
About Me and My Journey
My fascination with Korean culture, K-pop, and dramas began when I was in junior high school, and it has only grown stronger over the years. Back then, I would spend countless hours immersed in Korean music videos and dramas, which sparked my dream of mastering the language.
Fast forward to my high school years, my English teacher once told me, "You’ll become a teacher someday." I laughed it off at the time, but her words stayed with me and eventually became a reality. Teaching my first class was an unforgettable experience—it was both fun and inspiring. This joy is what motivates me to create a learning environment where students can enjoy and explore Korean with ease and confidence.
Teaching Experience
My teaching career began with Superprof in 2018, where I had the privilege of working with passionate learners. Since then, my journey has taken me to:
- Surabaya Cambridge Elementary School (May 2023)
- Surabaya Language School (May 2023)
- Rumah Bahasa Surabaya (May 2023)
- MDC High School (August 2023)
- Xin Zhong Junior High School (2024)
Sharing Korean language and culture with curious young minds in a dynamic learning environment.
With each class, I strive to make learning engaging, enjoyable, and interactive, often incorporating songs, practical exercises, and cultural insights.
